Partners in both life and art; Brendan Day and Dominique M. Carrington create work that merges painting and experiential installation. Carrington constructs environments with fabric, florals, and sculptural elements. Her work includes draped textiles, cascading table displays, paper-mâché sculptures, and suspended floral compositions. Brendan’s oil paintings, rich with expressive brushstrokes and layered textures, blur the line between abstraction and representation. The Herron graduate's work captures the quiet drama of landscapes, the vibrancy of fruits and florals, and the presence of animals in fleeting moments of movement and stillness. Many of his floral subjects begin as Carrington’s meticulously composed arrangements before being translated to canvas.
